Segantii dominates Eurekahedge’s Asian Hedge Fund Awards

    Hong Kong hedge fund Segantii Capital Management left little room for competition during Eurekahedge’s 13th annual hedge fund awards this year.

    Hedge funds across Asia competed in categories ranging from city specific winners to the best of each strategy. The winners from last year averaged returns of 12.2% in 2015, compared to the 6.4% return of the Eurekahedge Asian Index. And since the beginning of 2014, the winners had a compounded 42.1% compared to 11.7% for the Asian Hedge Fund Index.

    The Segantii Asia-Pacific Equity Multi-Strategy brought home three awards for the best Asian multi-strategy fund, best Asian billion-dollar hedge fund, and the top prize of overall best Asian hedge fund.

    Other winners included:

    • Best Singapore Hedge Fund: APS Asia Pacific Long Short Fund
    • Best Greater China Hedge Fund: Tairen China Fund
    • Best Indian Hedge Fund:  Helios Strategic
    • Best Japan Hedge Fund:  Akito Fund JPY
    • Best ASEAN Hedge Fund:  Ton Poh Thailand Fund
    • Best Asia ex-Japan Hedge Fund: Pinpoint Multi-Strategy Fund
