Aberdeen Asset Management is continuing its U.S. and alternatives pushes with the purchase of Arden Asset Management.

The Arden acquisition will add $11 billion to Aberdeen’s hedge fund unit, reports Reuters. Aberdeen also added FLAG Capital Management’s private equity and real assets to its business in May. The two deals bring Aberdeen’s alts platform to more than $30 billion.

“Institutional investors are looking to hedge fund solutions to offer risk/return profiles not available via mainstream strategies and traditional asset classes,” said Aberdeen Chief Executive Martin Gilbert.
