CVC Capital Partners appoints Korea chairman. Steve Lim, an old hand in the Korean banking industry, has been named chairman of Korea by the private equity firm, CVC Capital. Regarding Lim’s appointment, CVC managing partner, Roy Kuan, had this to say:
“We are delighted to have Steve join us to lead and further strengthen our presence in Korea. We have known Steve for over 15 years and it is a great honour to work in partnership with one of the top dealmakers in Korea and the region. ”
Prior to joining CVC, Lim served as CEO for JP Morgan in Korea, and was also a member of the firm’s Asia Pacific Management Committee. Before his tenure at JP Morgan, Lim was as an investment banker for Salomon Brothers in the firm’s New York, Seoul, and Tokyo offices. CVC Capital
Julius Baer names new Asia-Pacific head. Jimmy Lee, a 25-year wealth management veteran, will be joining Julius Baer as the firm’s new head for Asia-Pacific. His appointment also places him in Bank Julius Baer’s executive board. Boris F.J. Collardi, CEO of Julius Baer, had this to say regarding Lee’s hiring:
“I am very pleased that we have been able to win Jimmy Lee and warmly welcome him to Julius Baer. With Jimmy’s vast experience and his extensive network, we will launch the next phase of growth and take our presence in Asia to the next level.”
Prior to joining the firm, Lee spent 11 years at Credit Suisse, where his latest role was market group head in Hong Kong. He was Asia CEO of Clariden Leu before its merger with Credit Suisse. Julius Baer
