Here’s an interesting story for you guys trying to break in into finance. Mark B. Fisher, MBF Trading’s founder and CEO, didn’t exactly go through your typical target school to trading route – he did it the other way around – through sheer, bloody tenacity.
Granted, it may not be as easy now as it was in his time, and Paul Tudor Jones did say that Fisher is “powered by some type of energy source that is not endemic to the normal human condition,” but the fact that he did what he did in order to land the job speaks volumes on how showing one’s hunger and scrappiness – especially during interviews – could mean the difference between getting a job offer, or a rejection letter.
