NexAsiaAM: Chinese futures trade lower; Greek debt talks go nowhere

    Good morning everyone. With the Greek debt talks going nowhere – again – traders worldwide have seemingly left the market on autopilot as bond yields, currency crosses, and equity indices either revert back to their “pre-enthusiasm” levels or barely move from their current trading bands. Chinese volatility however, has once again proven itself resilient to the world’s trends as the SHCOMP looks to cap the week up over 1% despite seeing its offshore-based trackers lose at least 0.5%.

    Here’s what else you need to know:

    Asian futures trade mixed. Future contracts on Asia’s largest equity markets traded mixed again as the Nikkei posted a slight gain in Osaka’s pre-market while the Hang Seng, the Hang Seng China Enterprises Index, and the Singapore-traded FTSE China A50 Index futures all slipped 0.3%, 0.6%, and 0.7% respectively.     Obamacare continues. The U.S. Supreme Court upheld the Affordable Care Act, again. Chief Justice John Roberts issued the majority opinion for the case, declaring that the Act should be interpreted to improve health insurance markets. Justice Antonin Scalia issued the scathing dissent, saying it wasn’t the courts’ job to interpret the “jiggery-pokery” of Congress’s sloppy writing. CNN

    Swipe right for an IPO. Dating app Tinder, along with its parent Match.com, is going public. IAC/InterActive owns the online dating services, and saw its own shares up Thursday after the announcement. Business Insider

    Courtney Love caught up in Uber protest. Punk musician Love tweeted that she was “ambushed” during an Uber protest in Paris. Protests have turned violent in France as taxi drivers take on the ride-sharing company. Love said she escaped on a motorcycle after having the tires of her car slashed. Time

    Californian kids closer to vaccinations. The California State Assembly approved a bill that would require almost all children in day care or school to be vaccinated. After the measles outbreak at Disneyland last year, vaccinations as a parental choice has become a heated debate topic. NPR
