    UBS announces two key appointments in Asia Pacific

    The Swiss lender named Andrew Williamson as head of client coverage, while Matthew Rule was appointed head of investment products and services for Asia and the Pacific, UBS said in two separate internal memos sent to NexChange.

    Williamson will be based in Hong Kong and will report to UBS Asia Pacific president Chi-Won Yoon. In his new role, he will work with the region’s senior management to promote cross-divisional collaboration.

    An industry veteran, Williamson joined UBS in 2004 after working for 18 years in wealth management roles at Lloyds Bank, Berry Asset Management and Coutts in London. In 2006, he moved to the Asia Pacific region and became wealth management head of products and services for Australia. He moved two Hong Kong three years later and has since held various senior regional roles such as wealth management head of investment products for Asia Pacific and most recently as wealth management Asia Pacific head of equities and capital markets.

    Rule, meanwhile, reports to Mike Stewart, global head of investment products and services, as well as to Kathryn Shih, head of wealth management for Asia and the Pacific region.

    Another veteran in the industry, Rule joined UBS in 1992 and he has worked in Europe, the U.S., Singapore and Hong Kong. Most recently, he was head of client coverage for Asia Pacific, where he helped develop the region’s strong record of cross-divisional collaboration and deepened the Swiss bank’s relationship with its clients.

    ANZ has new global head of corporate advisory

    ANZ appointed Martin Hanrahan as global head of corporate advisory, a job that requires providing M&A services to international and institutional (IIB) clients in Australia and Asia, the bank said in a statement.

    An ANZ veteran who has worked in the bank’s industrial advisory team since 1998, Hanrahan will oversee the bank’s advisory team in Sydney, Melbourne and Singapore. The team provides domestic and international M&A advisory services to both public and private firms and businesses in agriculture, natural resources, infrastructure and utilities sectors.

    He will report to Christina Tonkin, ANZ managing director of global loans and advisory.

    Prior to joining ANZ, Hanrahan was managing director of Bancorp Australia Ltd. He had also worked at Morgan Grenfell Australia Ltd in its corporate finance.

    BNP Paribas Cardif appoints Vincent Sussfeld as head for Asia

    The insurance subsidiary of BNP Paribas has appointed Vincent Sussfeld as head of the Asia Zone, reporting to Jean-Bertrand Laroche, CEO, international markets, the firm said in a statement.

    Sussfeld replaced Xavier Guilmineau, who is taking up a new role within the BNP Paribas Group.

    Sussfeld joined BNP Paribas Cardif in 2007 as head of public affairs. He then became deputy head of the SBI Life joint venture in India in 2009. Afterwards, he was named head of international sales development in 2012. He has been deputy head of Asia alongside Guilmineau since the start of 2015.
