Nikko Asset Management has two new appointments. Eleanor Seet, a four-year veteran at Tokyo-based Nikko Asset Management, has been promoted by the firm to head of Asia, ex-Japan. Seet joined the firm as president and director back in 2011, and has been credited with much of the growth of Nikko AM Asia. Prior to joining Nikko, she was a senior director at BlackRock. She will be based in Singapore. Meanwhile, Yasuaki Ogiwara has been named president of Nikko AM in Hong Kong. Ogiwara joins Nikko from Nomura, where he also served as Hong Kong president. JP Morgan AM appoints new Asia-Pacific CEO. Michael Falcon, JP Morgan Asset Management’s head of Asia-Pacific funds business, was recently named Asia-Pacific CEO of the firm. His appointment came after previous CEO Jed Laskowitz, assumed a new role as co-head of global investment management solutions in New York. Falcon will continue to be based in Hong Kong, where he relocated to from New York last year. Fund Selector Asia
Standard Life Investments names new directors. Jason Yu and Dongyue Zhang have both been appointed investment directors in Standard Life’s global investment specialist team. They will be based in Hong Kong. Yu joins Standard Life from Wellington Management, where he served as investment director for the firm’s fixed income and absolute return products. Zhang meanwhile joins the firm from Goldman Sachs, where he served as vice president as well as portfolio manager in the firm’s Global Portfolio Solutions Group. Standard Life
