Franklin Templeton hires portfolio manager. Franklin Templeton Investments has hired James Macey into the newly created role of portfolio manager with a focus on retirement solutions. Macey will co-head the U.S. retail Franklin Allocation Funds and Franklin LifeSmart Retirement Target Funds. Macey comes to the firm from Allianz Global investors where he co-lead the target-date and retirement income portfolios, and was a multi-asset U.S. mutual fund manager.
Standish Mellon names CEO. Standish Mellon Asset Management has named David Leduc as CEO to replace Desmond MacIntyre. Leduc joined Standish Mellon in 1995, most recently working as CIO, a role he will continue to hold. CityWire
Mercer poaches Schroders strategic research head. Divyesh Hindocha is returning to investment consultant Mercer September 1 as senior investment consultant. Hindocha previously worked at Mercer as global head of product and defined contribution before joining Schroders as head of strategic research in 2013. Schroders will not be replacing Hindocha. Credit Suisse appoints Mexico head. Pedro Jorge Villarreal will be succeeding Hector Grisi as Credit Suisse CEO of Mexico, leading the asset management, investment bank, and private bank units. Villarreal has been at Credit Suisse for 15 years, and will continue his role as co-head of the investment banking department for Latin America, excluding Brazil.
