People Moves: Morgan Stanley gets new IBD vice chair; CITIC appoints new brokerage chief

    Morgan Stanley snaps IBD vice chair from Temasek. Ding Wei, a former CICC heavy, has been appointed by Morgan Stanley as its new investment banking vice chairman for Asia-Pacific. Ding was Temasek Holdings’ former China head, and was executive chairman of China International Capital Corp’s investment banking committee prior to that. He also held several roles at the IMF, the World Bank, as well as with the embattled German giant, Deutsche Bank. Reuters

    CITIC Securities appoints new brokerage chief. Liu Jun, CITIC Securities’ current head of asset management, will be adding another hat at the firm after getting named as its new head of brokerage. Liu is a 20-year veteran of the firm, and has held several roles in it from working in its local branches to managing its Treasury. The appointment also sets him up in CITIC’s executive committee, which includes the group’s chairman, Wang Dongming, as well as its president, Cheng Boming. FinanceAsia

    BOCOM names new ECM director. Diva Hon, one of the region’s more high-profile bankers, has been appointed executive director of BOCOM’s equity capital markets team. Hon was a nine-year veteran of CITIC CSLA – CITIC Securities’ investment banking arm – prior to her jump to BOCOM. She will be reporting to Esther Wong, the firm’s head of ECM, as well as to Voon Lai, the investment banking boss. Global Capital
