The EU Council announced yet another round of measures towards Russia in response to the escalation of war conflict in Ukraine.
Among other political and economic sanctions, the eight set tightens rules for cryptocurrency wallets operation.
“The existing prohibitions on crypto assets have been tightened by banning all crypto-asset wallets, accounts, or custody services, irrespective of the amount of the wallet,” the European Commission said in a statement on October 6th.
It brings down to zero the amount of assets users can hold on particular wallets, as opposed to a limit of €10,000 set by the previous package.
