Here’s something bemusing, according to The Block, Binance’s Weibo account has been blocked:
Cryptocurrency exchange Binance’s official Weibo account (a Chinese microblogging website similar to Twitter) has been blocked.
The exchange’s Weibo page now reads: “The account has been blocked due to violations of laws and regulations and the relevant provisions of the Weibo Community Convention.”
All content, from Binance’s posts to its number of followers, have been removed from the site.
It isn’t clear why this happened but The Block speculates that Binance’s move to add fiat on-ramps on WeChat and Alipay may be behind it. The suspension, they said, quoting the China Times, may be subject to “more stringent penalties.”
