First Digital Trust, the crypto custody unit of Hong Kong-based Legacy Trust, has just scored a fresh round of capital.
According to Tech In Asia, the startup received $3 million in funding from Taiwan-based Telegram investor Nogle Capital.
The startup – which was launched late last year – recently announced plans to roll out a new “rapid settlement and clearing network.” The network “will give custodian clients the ability to transfer digital assets seamlessly across the region.” It will initially be limited to fiat and crypto, but it “can be expanded to accommodate other assets such as tokenized securities.”
The company will use the new funds to launch the network.
As for Nogle, it will be working with the startup to further refine the platform.
“The unique synergies between our two companies will accelerate our vision of creating a world where people can trade and transact digitized assets freely,” said First Digital Trust chief operating officer Gunnar Jaerv.
